The idea that the coronavirus was intentionally released from a lab or if it was naturally transmitted from a bat to a human is a very hot topic. It probably will be for a very very long time. This is due to the fact that the US does not know the real origin of the virus and probably never will. China censors all the information they release to the US and this is definitely one crucial piece that they are keeping secret. The very scary fact is that if China was able to engineer this virus and release it to the public what else are they capable of? It is public knowledge that China believes they have a population problem and are trying to control it. This makes me wonder; could they be engineering viruses to control their population?
As the public presses more and more for answers scientists are very picky with what they share because they are still exploring all possible answers. As I read the article it seemed that with each piece of new information, the scientists were receiving they were changing their minds on whether it was from a lab or bat to human. This being said it is very likely for scientists to have such a significant change of heart in what to leave in and what to leave out in the pursuit of scientific truth since new information is constantly circulating in which can drastically shift the trajectory to the scientific truth. They have to be cautious the opinions they share because they could make their way to the public when China releases new facts that change those original opinions, leaving the public not trusting them.
