Reflection of Google verses DDG on the GBD

I learned from my Google search that the Great Barrington Declaration was written and signed by professor Dr. Martin Kulldorff of medicine at Harvard University. The GBD was a letter written with the intent to remove lockdown of the population not vulnerable to the corona virus because of the negative impacts quarantine has on mental health, economic issues and more. It was signed by many other immunologists, professors, doctors and other health professionals. I think that this makes it a letter that the public should read and listen too. When I looked it up on the Duck Duck Go engine I found more about it being silenced, but when i googled it I could find anything about the NIH or the NIAID silencing the GBD.

I think if we did a better job at protecting the elderly, especially the spread in nursing homes, the pandemic would have looked very different. The spread to the populations at risk scared a lot of people especially those in charge which contributed to the lockdown. There was not a need for the whole country to go into lockdown when many were not at as high a risk. I was not aware of the suppression of the Great Barrington Declaration by the NIH and the NIAID. I was also not aware of the letters within the NIH. I think that one possible motivation for silencing these alternative opinions is because it is not their opinions. It could make them look weak if what they had been telling the public was wrong and that this group of health professionals was able to come up with a better plan to handling the pandemic.
